First European Lifestyle Scan Campaign Launched
Together Towards a Healthier Europe
This autumn, the first European lifestyle scan campaign officially kicks off. A unique initiative in which citizens, professionals, and organizations from nine countries join forces to strengthen lifestyle and prevention. The campaign is part of the Healthy Lifestyle Network Europe (HLNE) and is supported by the European Commission.
Lifestyle as Medicine – Three Practical Tools
Over the past six years, a European consortium led by John van Heel from the New Health foundation, together with two universities and fifteen lifestyle and prevention experts, has developed three compact lifestyle tools:
- The lifestyle scan: assess your lifestyle and discover new possibilities – free for everyone
- Lifestyle as Medicine course: a free online course for consumers
- Healthy Lifestyle Promoter update: an online training for professionals
These tools are now available in nine languages (Dutch, English, Portuguese, Spanish, Lithuanian, Serbian, Slovak, German, and French).
Scan Your Lifestyle – Compare with Health Council and WHO Guidelines
With HLNE’s scientifically validated lifestyle scan, you can compare your lifestyle with the guidelines of the Health Council and the World Health Organization (WHO). Everyone who completes the short or extended scan receives a personal overview with insights and free access to the unique Lifestyle as Medicine video series (exercise, nutrition, and mindset). Opportunity for Health- and fitness clubs and Professionals
Health clubs, physiotherapy practices, health centers, personal trainers, therapists, coaches, trainers – in fact, anyone who guides people – can participate free of charge and promote the lifestyle scan. They receive, at no cost, a toolkit with promotional materials, a unique invitation link, and a complete social media package. This allows them to invite their own clients/patients/members as well as non-members to complete the scan and follow the course.

The joint goal is to reach at least 50,000 Europeans in the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovakia, Austria, and France. Together, we can make this campaign a success end help Europe to a healthier lifestyle.
