Discover how healthy your lifestyle really is in just a few minutes
How healthy is your lifestyle, really? Many people believe they live a healthy life, yet few know which daily habits genuinely support their health and which may silently increase their risk of chronic disease. To help people gain this insight, the Healthy Lifestyle Network Europe (HLNE) project has launched a free, evidence-based Lifestyle Scan together with an online education programme on lifestyle medicine.
Developed according to the latest scientific recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), European public health guidelines and current lifestyle medicine research, the Lifestyle Scan provides a clear overview of the lifestyle factors that promote health, those that deserve attention, and where the greatest opportunities for improvement lie. Participants can choose between a compact or a comprehensive assessment, depending on the level of detail they prefer.
The initiative goes beyond simply measuring lifestyle. After completing the scan, participants receive free access to the Lifestyle as Medicine online education programme. Through engaging, evidence-based video modules, they learn how physical activity, nutrition, sleep, stress management, recovery, mindset and behaviour change contribute to long-term health and wellbeing. The programme helps transform awareness into practical, sustainable lifestyle improvements.
The Lifestyle Scan and educational programme were developed by an international consortium of lifestyle and prevention experts as part of the Healthy Lifestyle Network Europe project. Both are available in nine European languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Slovak, Serbian and Lithuanian, making high-quality preventive health education accessible to citizens and professionals across Europe.
"Just as we regularly service our cars, our health deserves regular attention too," say the project partners. "A few minutes of personal insight today can help prevent health problems tomorrow."
The initiative is not only intended for the general public. Healthcare organisations, municipalities, employers, schools, fitness centres, physiotherapy clinics and other organisations are invited to participate in the European awareness campaign. Partners receive a free communication toolkit that enables them to encourage employees, patients, students, members and local communities to assess their lifestyle and take the first step towards better health.
